Fractional Differential Equations and Their Solution Methods
In this thesis study, some solutions methods are presented for fractional differential equations. These methods are the variational iteration method and a modification of the variational iteration method. A modification of the variational iteration method for solving systems of nonlinear fractional-order differential equations is proposed. Approximate solutions of systems of nonlinear fractional-order Van der Pol, Brusselator and Genesio-Tesi are obtained by standard variational iteration method and modification of variational iteration method and these approximate solutions are showed by graphs. Thus, these approximate solutions obtained from variational iteration method and modification variational iteration method are compared with each others. It is demostrated that series solutions obtained by using modification of the variational iteration method converges exact solution faster relative to the approximate solutions by standard variational iteration method.
